Strikers Arsenal have been linked with during this window

Benzema (Real Madrid)

Benzema is in the rare group of “world class strikers”. He has all the attributes required – strength, height, enough pace and has proven his consistency in front of goal (has been Madrid’s main striker for the past few years – displacing Higuain). The main reason why he may leave is because, Rafa Benitez is said to be implementing a system with 1 striker upfront, and wants the lone striker to be Ronaldo. If that is the case then Benzema is too good to be a bench player and somewhere like Arsenal will be a great fit. He will be a more prolific option to Giroud, will easily fit into Arsenal’s playing style and we know how much Wenger loves his Frenchmen!

Lacazette (Lyon)

Another Frenchmen linked with Arsenal? No way! Lacazette had a dream 14/15 season with Lyon and i’m surprised that he hasn’t been linked with many of the big clubs. He scored an amazing 32 goals in all comps (42 games) last season and is still only 24 years old. Lacazette is rapid, knows how to finish and will be challenging Benzema for the main striker position in the national team. Once again will be a perfect fit for Arsenal and can be someone who can be their main striker for many years to come.

Higuain (Napoli)

Arsenal have been linked with him for a while, but his release clause is thought to be astronomical! He had an amazing 14/15 season with Napoli, scoring 30 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions (55 games). There are 2 potential reasons why he may leave – Rafa Benitez leaving and Napoli finishing 5th. He fits the Arsenal mould, is a distinguished finisher and is someone in his prime who will look to finish his career at a top club.

Aubameyang (Dortmund)

Possibly with Reus, he was our Dortmund player of the season for 14/15. Started of as a winger, was converted to play striker and adapted his game impressively. 22 goals and 8 assists in 41 appearances is not something that can be ignored. With Dortmund performing so poorly last season he may be looking elsewhere as he is 26 and entering his prime soon. With no doubt his best quality is his blistering pace. Imagine a team with him, Sanchez and Walcott playing upfront, I do feel sorry for the opposition defence!

I honestly think any 1 of the 4 will be an improvement on Giroud. Signing either 1 of these strikers will potentially make Arsenal title contenders. I’m interested to know what you guys think! Please let us know by voting below.
